Is InvoiceAsItIs IRAS-compliant?

Yes. Our tax invoices meet all IRAS requirements for GST-registered businesses in Singapore. Every invoice includes: supplier name, UEN/GST registration number, invoice number, date, client details, itemised description, GST amount, and total payable. You can submit these directly for GST filing purposes.

Does it calculate GST automatically?

Yes. GST is set at 9% (current Singapore rate as of 2026) and calculated automatically on every quotation and invoice. The subtotal, GST amount, and total are shown separately as required by IRAS.

Can I issue invoices in foreign currency?

Pro plan supports SGD only. Enterprise plan supports SGD, MYR, USD, and other currencies. All SGD invoices auto-apply 9% GST.

Can I backdate an invoice?

Yes. The issue date is fully editable. This is useful for invoices prepared after the work date. The system logs the actual creation timestamp separately for audit purposes.

How do invoice numbers work?

Invoice numbers are auto-generated sequentially: INV-YYYY-XXXX (e.g. INV-2026-0042). They cannot be reused or deleted once issued, in line with IRAS record-keeping requirements.

How does the PayNow QR work?

Every quotation and invoice automatically generates a PayNow QR code linked to your company UEN and the exact document total. Your client scans with any Singapore banking app (DBS, OCBC, UOB, Maybank, CIMB, Standard Chartered and others). The amount is pre-filled and cannot be changed by the payer.

Is the QR code linked to my bank account?

The QR links to your UEN via PayNow. Ensure your UEN is registered with PayNow through your bank before using this feature. We do not handle the actual payment — funds go directly from your client to your bank account.

Does InvoiceAsItIs confirm when payment is received?

We do not have direct bank integration. Your client or you can upload a payment proof (screenshot or PDF) to the invoice, which marks it as paid. Automated bank reconciliation is on our roadmap.

Can clients pay from Malaysia or overseas?

PayNow is linked with DuitNow (Malaysia), PromptPay (Thailand), and UPI (India) — clients in these countries can scan your PayNow QR with their local banking app. Other countries would need a manual bank transfer.

Is my data stored in Singapore?

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted in the AWS ap-southeast-1 (Singapore) region. Data does not leave Southeast Asia.

Yes. We comply with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate data, or request account deletion at any time from your Settings page. See our PDPA Statement for full details.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your account moves to read-only. Data is retained for 90 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted. You can export all data before cancelling. Invoice records are anonymised (not deleted) to meet IRAS 7-year record-keeping obligations.

Yes. We publish an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Add https://invoiceasitis.com/mcp as a custom connector in ChatGPT (Settings → Connectors) or Claude Desktop/Web (Settings → Connectors). Sign in with your InvoiceAsItIs account via OAuth. The assistant can then answer questions like "how many unpaid invoices this month?" or "list my top 10 clients by revenue".

How do I set up the MCP connection?

Go to Admin → More → Agent integrations inside InvoiceAsItIs for step-by-step setup instructions. In your AI client (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, etc.), add a custom MCP server pointing to https://invoiceasitis.com/mcp. You'll be redirected to sign in to your InvoiceAsItIs account and approve access before the tools become available.

What can the AI assistant see and do?

Currently read-only tools: list clients, list quotations, list invoices, and get a workspace summary. The assistant only sees what your logged-in user is permitted to see under our row-level security policies. It cannot send invoices, delete data, modify records, or access any other workspace.

Is the MCP connection secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with per-session user consent. Tokens are scoped to your user account, enforce our row-level security, and can be revoked at any time from your account settings. We never expose service credentials or bypass workspace permissions.
